Luckily it's just a fictional universe of the popular game and now TV show The Last of us, and this could never happen. Right? Right...? What if you became infected? And how would you survive in this new world?

The really one major unrealistic thing about the Walking Dead TV Series is that the zombies don't seem to decompose further than they actually should. 2 years tops for a preserved corpse to fully decompose in right conditions. That is unless the virus somehow is keeping the corpse from rotting further.
