simple past - moves story forward ( i went to a concert. i saw my favourite singer from so close)
past continuous - is useful to give a description of what was happening there ( he was playing guitar and singing my favourite song )
past parfect - is useful to give a background to the story ( past of past) ( i had never seen nobody performing live until then )
use direct speech

When I was 12 years old I was not too fond of mathematics—especially the concept of geometry. So my performance in all math exams would be bad. My teacher had tried so hard to explain that concept to me but still, my marks were bad. I love taking photos. Thanks to its immediate comprehension, photography is an extraordinary form for conveying messages. If you are a professional or a simple enthusiast like myself, you must consider 3 essential points to obtain good performance on the field. Number one, you have to understand well the message you want to spotlight, the subject of your pictures. Number two, you have to understand how light works during daylight and at night using artificial sources of illumination.
