The lack of work excuse empowers Canada’s skilled trades employers to terminate a worker for no reason, and they don’t have to give you severance pay or notice of termination.. This makes all skilled trades jobs in Canada, unsafe to perform. Protect yourself from employer by knowing your rights as a worker. Your employer will gladly violate your human rights and labour laws if it is profitable to do so..

Also know that if you are injured performing your job, WCB will likely deny your injury claim due to their well documented “culture of denial”. All injured workers are treated as liars, and they will blame your injuries on non-work related activities if you allow them to.
