День Победы - Victory Day (English Lyrics)

'Victory Day' is a Soviet patriotic song written in 1975 for the 30th anniversary of the Red Army's victory over the Nazi Empire. 75 years ago the Red Army, after pushing through Eastern Europe, liberating and saving millions of people, captured Berlin and defeated once and for all the dark empire of fascist Germany. The flag of the Soviet Union flew atop the Reichstag, the remaining Nazi officials in Berlin surrendered, Nazi defeat and humiliation was beyond question. The heroic deeds of the Red Army of the Soviet Union will last centuries to come and their sacrifice to defend world peace and aid the oppressed peoples of the world must never be forgotten.

On 8 May in 1945 at 23:01 CET (9 May 01:01 Moscow Time) German Instrument of Unconditional Surrender signed by the Supreme High Command of Red Army, Allied Expeditionary Force & Wehrmacht entered into force.

Although the Soviets have done some bad things during their history, they rid the world of fascism and saved the lives of millions of innocent civilians on the european continent. Humanity owes them a lot for this achievement.

On the morning of May 9 of 1945 mankind woke up free from nazi-fascism after the brave Soviet soldiers finally entered Berlin and defeated the hideous Nazi regime. Nevertheless, this victory could only be achieved after a war of suffering for all mankind and destruction of most of Europe, particularly the Eastern side, in which the troops of Nazi and Fascist regimes destroyed and killed all in its way until they were stopped by comrade Stalin. .On this anniversary of the peoples’ victory against Nazifascism we remind the main actor of this victory that freed mankind: the people. It was the popular resistance organized by the antii-fascist peoples against fascist imperialist offense that defeated fascism. We remind particularly the contribution of the brave Soviet people, the glorious Red Army under the leadership of the Bolshevist Party with comrade Stalin at the head who had to face more than 2/3 of the battlefronts.
The blood of the victims is not been shed in vain.
Our anti-fascist struggle will only be complete when we have eliminated the inevitability of the recurrence of fascism by means of the victory of the world socialist revolution!
