Eurovision ident (TCN9 variant)

Stumbled on a true rarity that will delight those who have an interest in Eurovision cards. This was a card produced by the Australian station TCN9 (more commonly referred to as Channel 9) when they produced and transmitted the world feed of the 1985 Australian Grand Prix

As far as I can tell, this is the only instance of a non-European network ever producing a Eurovision transmission and is certainly a rare oddity. The only other time Australians would have ever seen a Eurovision card would have been during SBS broadcasts of the Eurovision Song Contest

30 years before Australia somehow got a Eurovision slot.

Eurovision back in those times reeked of Italo-Disco, Euro Disco and Hi-NRG glory. It was quite popular towards the boomer and Gen X demograph, that the aforementioned genres ironically led to the birth of Euro House and Trance music genres.

That is quite possibly one of the craziest Eurovision cards ever, not because of its looks (this one is perfectly harmless), but because of the fact that a country from Oceania somehow teamed up with the other European countries to produce the Eurovision sound contest.

I remember seeing this at the time, and pausing to wonder why an event telecast from Adelaide was being relayed via Sydney (where TCN is located) for the uplink. It didn't make sense to me.
