I remember vaguely about how their eyes can see the stars above them, which is how they navigate to their den afterward. Something about their receptor at the base of the stalk so to cut out the blue light from the sun.

Fun fact, not long after colonisation, Australia was almost drowning in cow poop as none of the indigenous species would touch it. We had to import european beetles to fix the problem
