Here's a thought the teams playing in European cups don't play in the league cup... gives the other teams a chance of winning a trophy, plus the teams playing in the European cups come in at a later stage meaning they only have to play a handfull of games in the league cup to win it. So either A. Teams in the European cups don't enter or B. All teams throughout all leagues enter the league cup at the same round

I’m sorry but this format to me is absolutely disgusting, these teams get a free pass to the third round, now they get a free pass to an automatic home fixture against a low league team. Cup competitions should be fair and have competitive integrity but this format has sucked it all out. How is this fair on the non big 6 teams who have worked hard to get to the third round to then be drawn automatically away from home against the big 6 because the big 6 can’t face each other because of fixture clash. If you’re concerned about fixture clash, take the big 6 teams out the competition. Putting them in like that is just unfair and takes out the competitiveness to the cup. It will always be in favour for the big 6

They already play too many games in a calendar year. There is no reason for the reserves from Man City or Arsenal to put up 7 against a League 2 squad. The only downside I see is potential loss of income to a smaller club for hosting the Battering.

As a West Ham fan I think this is a disgrace. Not just because we got Liverpool. It’s unfair really. In my opinion, it shouldn’t be like that. They should just do it the normal way. I think Sky Sports just want the Carabao Cup to be a cup where only Top 6 clubs win…
We will never beat Liverpool. Especially now they have Chiesa who is a good player in my opinion!
