I don’t understand why school systems don’t let us show our shoulders. Like.. miss girl. Who’s gonna be looking at my shoulders and say “mm those are some hot shoulders”
Same with ripped jeans. They let us wear shorts but we can’t wear ripped jeans because they “show too much skin” and it’s “distracting to the boys” like what??? Shorts show more skin, and who’s gonna look at my legs in ripped jeans and say “damn baby those are some *sexy* kneecaps” like wtf 😭

I feel a particular bitterness toward dress codes because I was dress coded for wearing an eye mask on a spirit day at school (these were allowed I checked ahead of time.) I saw multiple other people wearing these, but I was the only one dress coded because the office workers saw me as i walked into school and knew who I was because my dad was a teacher at the school and tracked me down and told me I couldn't wear it in class. So I decided to wear it during passing period and lunch, not class. I was tracked down again and they said I couldn't wear it in the hallways. So I wore it outside. Then they said I couldn't wear it during the spirit parade. So I wore it during the assembly and the office lady in question found me again and actually took it off my head while I was walking. To be fair I complied with all the rules 😂 it was ridiculous since I'd worn the mask 3 years in a row for the parade, and they specifically said you could wear half masks, not full face masks. I never broke the rules and I still got yelled at and manhandled. 😂😂😂

js because you’re a teacher at YOUR school doesn’t mean everyone cant have the same outfits you cant. it depends which school, my teacher in middle school wears a short skirt and her shoulders were out.
