Ahhh, St Mark's, Venice. We all know how ruthless and aggressive the Venetians were. More holy relics to draw in the pilgrims paying the church. I believe Jesus when He himself told the disciples while they were IN the Temple, that not ONE stone would be left. They all would be overturned. And, in AD 70, that's exactly what happened. Even the still standing Arch of Titus has these very reliefs, showing them marching back into Rome carrying the Temples menorah!!. So, nice thought, but i highly doubt it.
