September 22 marked 25 years since the Burlington Northern Railroad (BN) and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) merged to form the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF). BNSF has grown to become the largest operating railroad in North America, with 32,500 miles (52,300 km) of track in 28 states. BNSF continues to serve the Midwest and Western regions of the United States. Here is a compilation featuring some of the many BNSF trains I have caught over the years. Featuring various GE and EMD locomotives, original BN and ATSF units, and a nice mix of other railroads and leasers. Enjoy!
