IMHO far superior to Dionne Warwick’s version from 1982.
The whole arrangement with high pitched strings, long-haired carpet of rhythm, background singers and horns taking care of business so Dionne Warwick can be Dionne Warwick. Isaac Hayes was a genius.
Oh and that ”ending” 2.55 Starts with a classic DW phrasing and then a build-up/mash-up sustained right up to till 4.04. WOW!
