That is not a proper apology video, it is kind of an apology video.

Stainless steel is usually used for rust prevention, and that rust is prevented by that shiny coating called chromium. But there's a catch: that coating can be damaged through wear and tear. So from their logic, they coated the watch with matte, but I don't know if it's effective or not because I also don't remember anything about chemistry.

The industry commonly uses two grades of stainless steel: 202 and 304. Stainless steel 304 is valued for its excellent corrosion resistance and ductility due to its higher nickel content. On the other hand, 202 is a more affordable option with lower nickel and higher manganese, offering moderate corrosion resistance and strength. 304 performs well in harsh environments, while 202 suits less demanding, cost-sensitive applications.

Stainless steel is highly resistant to rust and corrosion, but it is not completely immune. Its resistance comes from the presence of chromium (at least 10.5%), which forms a protective oxide layer on the surface. However, under certain conditions, stainless steel can rust or corrode:

1. Exposure to Saltwater: Prolonged exposure to salty environments can lead to corrosion.

2. Chemical Exposure: Strong acids or harsh chemicals can break down the protective layer.

3. Scratches or Damage: If the protective oxide layer is damaged, rust may form.

4. Low-Quality Stainless Steel: Lower-grade stainless steels with less chromium are more prone to rust.

Using high-quality stainless steel (like 304 or 316 grades) and maintaining it properly can prevent rust.

3:44 Stainless steel me rusting nahi lagti as far as I've seen and used .. I've been wearing a watch for more than 13 years, every single day .. that watch made off stainless steel case, Stainless steel bracelet with solid links.. No amount of sweating caused any rust ..

This happened due to public pressure. The "Public" should remember Shlok is no humble guy, and he wouldn't have apologized without any pressure.

It's not about students or big creators—if you're making statements, you need to take accountability for them. If you're not willing to take accountability, then convey your thoughts as opinions, using phrases like "I believe" rather than presenting them as definitive statements. For those who consider this the right platform, this distinction matters.

(SS) Stainless Steel comes in 3 Grades in market.
Ist SS 202- It get rust over a 6 month period of time if it comes in contact of water.
2nd SS 304- It doesn't get rust through water, but if water is saline or salty in nature then it will get rust over a longer periop of time.
3rd SS 316- This type of stainless steel does not get rust even in saline water. That is why it is used in the cites which are closer to sea because the sea breeze and rain in those areas can rust other type of SS very easily.

Stainless steel contains chromium, which forms a passive layer of chromium oxide to prevent rust. If this layer is damaged (e.g., by scratches or harsh chemicals), rust can develop.

Also if its low grade stainless steel used then rust can develop overtime.

Bruh tum stainless steel k glass mei paani peete ho, usme rust lgta toh usko use hi nai krte

The reason why stainless steel does not rust is because it contains chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni). These two metal elements will form a dense oxide film with oxygen, this layer of oxide is also called a passivation film, which enhances the corrosion resistance.
