In this video I breakdown how I built my new rolling toolbox. This is a project that I've been planning for over two years. I’m excited to finally have a place for all of my tools in one spot, and dust free.

Make sure to watch until the end, as I will cover the cost, and the time it took to build.

Thanks for watching!

If these plans were detailed and in PDF format, I would buy them right now. Just bought a home built in 1910 so this would fit in perfectly.

Fun video to watch. tHanks for posting it.
I made a tool box when I was a kid and lately I've decided to be a kid again.

Glad to see your video. IMNSHO, it was worth it, that is, your project was totally worth it. Will subscribe and hope to see your 1 year-later review of this build. Thanks.

Well done, Sir!

I like it definitely looks better than harbor freight tool box. And wood helps with rusting in high humidity areas.

I always like seeing toolbox tour. I like refurbishing old dressers into tool chests, since it is much cheaper to start with a frame and some drawers. People will throw out dresser when one drawer is bad. Fix one drawer, add stronger support to bottom of drawers, and add 4 casters to bottom of dresser. Thanks for video!

This is my first video of yours I've watched, you made a helluva toolbox, I like your style, so many YouTubers do a lot of cuts in their vids and act like they knew everything from start to finish and it just slapped together easy as you please. Your "mistakes" make you human to us, teach you something, teach US something, and add character to your piece. Those mistakes show how truly hard woodworking is in a time when so many think really any manual labor job is just mindless busy work that anyone can do, that's definitely not the case as anyone who's tried it knows. I'm a carpenter, have been most of my life, I can build a house from the ground up, let me tell you, the skills transfer but fine woodworking is a whole new ball game, wouldn't say it's really harder, in some ways it is and others it isn't over found, I've only been dabbling in it for maybe a year and the learning curve is steep but very satisfying imho, just my two cents, great build, thank you! (sorry for the book, I just needed to say that 😁)

Looks nice.
However a cheaper option would be traditional woodworking joints,
Box joint draws construction lumber and luan side panels and back like a cheap dresser and wood drawer slides or even use cabnit type draw slides like you did or under mount and 1 sheet of 1/2" plywood for the draw bottoms, you could do the draws in 1/4-1/4-1/4 assembly and use under mount draw slides. Maybe recycled skid boards on the ends or a thin wood overlay.

Ive got probly 1200 bf of walnut mostly, cherry, some oak and poplar as well as 1.5x4 pine from a shipping container i broke down that was 9 foot long.
This could easily be made of scrap wood or even mdf covered in hardwoods.

What you did looks good. Will last a long time and you had fun making it. What you can add is holders for tools like socket holding bars using dowl rod insted of buying the plastic stuff and wrench holders insted of buying the plastic one.
I really like the use of the shower safty bar, a paper towl holder under it for shop towls other side you can make a fold down shelf or even a long tool holder like harbor frights tool cart you can hang long prybars or screwdrivers.
But yours is too pretty for a garage its better as a craft working bench.

It's only worth it if you think so. I think it's worth it, when u think of the experiences you've gained and memories you had thru the whole process. 👍👍👍👍👍

Great job, turned out awesome. I considered building something similar, but knew I honestly wouldn't put in the time to have it turn out as nice as this, and it would bug me. So, I ended up buying the 44" US General cabinet, and then another one after I filled that one up.

One cool thing to keep in mind is you can always reconfigure your drawers as your needs change. If you need some shallow drawers or super deep drawers, they're only a weekend project away.

Keep up the good work, enjoying your channel!

Look at the finish on that. Love the colour. The stain really adds a depth of colour. It's a decent amount of money but it was worth it. Great stuff nice video. Do you have a another video when you apply the stain. Thanks kp1
