🏙️ Rochester’s City Hall is recognized as a remarkable example of Richardson Romanesque architecture with its massive walls, turrets and towers dominating the brown sandstone exterior.
Some interesting facts:
🏛️ Formerly the Federal Building
💸 City of Rochester bought it for $1 and made the one block move to Church St. in 1975
💅 The picturesque marble arches were restored to their original form
✨ The “new” City Hall now houses the offices of the Mayor, City Council and City Clerk as well as the City Council Chambers, where public sessions are held in what was formerly the Federal Court Room
