finally got it to work after some trial and error. make sure you use a USB A to USB C cable, not a C-C cable like I did. This solved a write error at "sending sparse vendor_b" during the flashing phase. Otherwise you'll get a corrupt device error when trying to boot up.

I had my phone (Verizon Samsung S10e) set up for automatic updates. Recently the phone received the Android 11 "upgrade". Immediately I noticed that the NextRadio app no longer functioned, and now I can no longer receive terrestrial FM radio broadcasts. WTF? I paid for a phone that contains an FM tuner but Samsung and Verizon have decided that I don't need to use such it. Imagine taking your car to the dealer for an oil change and discovering the trunk was welded shut because the auto maker decided that you really didn't need it.

Is it possible to do an even more extreme version of this that involves not only installing a different version of the android operating system meant to work on any make or model but also the bootloader on any device as well to install through a live USB stick like you can with windows on a computer?


If this exact task is possible, is there programs that can do this available in bare code lines (source code) on a web page that you can copy and paste into files being for everything from tools to the bootloader and operating system as you need to use?

If you have a carrier locked device you can't enable OEM Unlock. How can we go back?

Update: took some convincing and a few different reps but I talked T-Mobile into unlocking my Pixel early.

Do you know if this helps with the Pixel phone problems? My 4 month old Pixel doesn't work unless it's plugged in and it started with the last update. I noticed a lot of people have reported the same issues on the Play store. Is there a way to do this without a computer? I only have a tablet, an android tv box and a chromebook.
