It’s not a Z06 with an LS3 downgrade. It’s a Grand Sport with an aluminum chassis upgrade.

Honestly he did the right thing. If you blow up a 7 liter you might as well buy a new corvette. The 6.2 can make almost the same power and be much cheaper to buy parts and maintain.

Could be short block from a performance vendor. They take blemish blocks from GM and bore them, then build them. I built a 7.0L short block that had a “5.3L” cast on it. I asked the vendor about it and they told me how they source these new blocks from GM.

You need more info. A 6.2 could be a good thing in some situations. A 6.2 manual trans GS has a motor with a long snout steel crank that was built alongside the ls7. They also share the Zo6 dry sump oiling system.

Not a bait and switch, just a simple occasion of the ls7 blowing up, and the owner not being able to find an affordable replacement ls7 so he did the next best thing. I mean, my ls7 came out of a camaro and is in another older camaro but the original is a pepsi can by now
