SENTENCES in English | Everything you need to know about TYPE & STRUCTURE
Показать описание
ABOUT THE LESSON 📚
Sentences are essential for us to express our thoughts and ideas. Understanding the different types of sentences and their structure will help you master English fluency. So let's talk about the four different sentence types and how we use them. And then we'll look at the four main sentence structures and how they are formed.
*NOTE: I want to provide you with an update. The example in the lesson for compound-complex sentences is incorrect. In the lesson I said, "You left after 10 minutes, and then you returned." I identified "after 10 minutes" as a dependent clause, and this is not correct because a dependent clause must have a subject and a verb. Therefore, a better example would be "You left after you received a phone call, and then you came back." This is an example of a compound-complex sentence because it has two independent clauses and one dependent clause. Sorry for any confusion.
