Last week we went to the BBC Proms! Follow the London Philharmonic Orchestra on an adventure behind the scenes.

The LPO has been performing at Glyndebourne over the summer, and made its way back to London for its performance at the BBC Proms. In his final concert as Principal Conductor, Vladimir Jurowski conducted Hindemith’s Symphony ‘Mathis der Maler’, Stravinsky’s Jeu de cartes, an arrangement of the Bach ‘Goldberg’ Canons by F. Goldmann, and Walton’s Cello Concerto, performed by Steven Isserlis.

In this access-all-areas vlog, we discover how adjusting from performing in a smaller space at Glyndebourne to the huge Royal Albert Hall brings challenges. And that the first violin parts in Hindemith’s Symphony are a pickle to play!

Absolutely! That was really interesting - a brilliant accompaniment to the concert itself - which I shall now watch again. As ever, programming to make people want to listen - not the same old stuff.
