The hatch is growing on me, not gonna lie

I get all the design and aesthetic talk and appreciate it. But at the end of the day, for me it comes down to the increased utility of the hatch. I've never owned one, but when you occasionally need to transport something, or even throw a bike inside vs. on a carrier so you can lock up the bike, that's where the hatch comes in for me.

On the hatch, the peices on the doors above the windows are rain visors designed so you can roll your windows down a bit in the rain and the rain won't come in. I have them on my car and I will buy them for every car I own, they are amazing!

BRING BACK THE LIFTBACKS! I miss all the liftback style hatchbacks from the 90s. Today's hatchbacks don't look as cool.

The trim over the windows are called monsoon shield. It is for rain protection. So you can open windows a little for fresh air and not let the rain in.

Boost blue, hatchback, manual. That’s the spec I would get on the new civic.

The hatchback space is frankly pretty shallow when the seats aren’t put down. I like to road trip a lot with friends and the sedan is longer and was able to fit all of our luggage, where the hatchback isn’t quite as deep, nor long. It is a bit taller but it’s at an angle that ends up blocking your rear view anyways. Both are beautiful and there’s no denying the hatchback’s versatility with the seats down, but for road trips the sedan is superior.

100% the hatchback. I may get one next year after the hype dies down. FWIW, not all photos and videos of the hatch have those window wind deflectors.

I got the sedan touring with HPD in red the day the hatch was announced. I’m so happy I didn’t wait! The sedan is amazing!

For a daily driver I would always choose the 2.0l na over the turbo

Wind deflector or something is quite common option parts in Japan. Especially for smokers. It can open windows even when it is rainy.

6:40 those are there so that you can open the window when is raining, I think the civic on that photo is the Japanese spec, because in Japan almost all cars have that. I live in Japan and Japanese like to open the windows when raining apparently.

Just got the 2022 sport touring hatch a few days ago. I love it. The front end looks even better in person vs the sedan, and I like the fastback style of the hatch, even though the sales guy said he thought it was ugly haha. The hatch makes more sense also for my use (camping/photography), so it's also a practicality thing for me. I love the tail light design as well. I also like that it doesn't try to be something it's not. The 10th gen seemed to try to be too sporty, but in a weird way, with the fake vents and aggressive body lines, in a car that's meant to be economic. If I wanted a sport honda, I'd go with the type R.

The interior on the 2022 civic is much nicer, and just overall the car is more refined. Which for my taste, fits perfectly. Everyone has their tastes and preferences, and luckily the hatch market isn't lacking for choice.

I didn’t realize how much more I liked the front of the Hatch until this video for some reason. It looks way better with ever so slight changes.

The hatch seems to be more of a car from this generation. I don’t mind the sedan but it did look a little dated— especially in the back. Amazing what a few adjustments can do.

Honda did it right appealing to a lot of different folks. Making backend change was the right move. Wonder what’s the color available?

I think mazda has the best looking hatch currently, new civic right behind it. The liftback design gives it a nice profile from all around.

Just stop GUESSING if you don’t have any idea.
The things on the doors are an accessory that can be optioned. Nothing to do at all with wind noise, it’s to allow you to drop the window slightly and the weather shield which is what it’s called stops the rain getting in. There’s a spoiler on the hatch too so the promo photo obviously has some accessories on it.
