I'm currently going through a dense math text book, therefore I have adapted this technique such that instead of reading entire chapters, I read only a few sections of each chapter.
And this works out because this book has quizzes at the end of each section!

Thank you, Matt DiMaio, I feel very confident that your technique will continue to help me as I go through College!

Hi Uncle Matt! I just found your channel today and watched your 8M view video along with this livestream. Thank you so much for all that you are doing!

Could you possibly elaborate on how you would adapt this method for S.T.E.M. textbooks such as Maths and Physics?

Would it be something like this:
1. Flip through each page and get a lay of the land
2. Take a look at the quiz at the end
3. Go through the bold print and look for definitions and formulas
4. Look at 1st & last sentence of each paragraph? (Not sure if this step would work particularly well for stem?)
5. Do a detailed read through of the chapter while taking notes
6. Attempt practice problems + end quiz

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I cannot say enough good things about Uncle Matts system. When I first tried it I just bounced through several textbooks AND pretty much remembered everything I read. Now I pick up two or three textbooks a year at thrift stores. (A $300.00 book with a price tag of $5.00) There is one caveat. There are some textbooks that are badly written. What can I say? You can't pick a winner ever time.

The paragraph question:
Some textbooks are more sidebar than text. It's hard to find the flow of the narrative. Have I mentioned that some textbooks are badly written?

Matt, I have an exam in 15 days.
I have 3 chapters left which require pure memorization (inorganic chemistry), please recommend what should I do

Sir, whenever I read a book (textbook, novel, etc), some words come, whose meanings I don't know & I have to search for meanings; which obviously breaks my flow of reading and it also becomes frustrating looking book then looking google for meanings and so on.

So my question : Whether I should read the text and simultaneously search for meanings
Or
Read the chapter at once, then go for meaning of words.
Or
If you have any other solution, please share
