I barely play center but as a guard I understand that if I happen to be next to the center I will make it a priority to just box him out so that my center can easily position and grab board.

It's such a simple rule that many players don't follow. The opposing center always runs around your other teamates for free and end up getting board when it could've been avoided easily.

Ok so its not just me. Every center has 96+ rebound. Nobody I play with helps box out, even power forwards sprint up court for fast breaks. I have to defend pick n rolls/pops block shots and box out these running 99 o board guys. But I have to play against 2-3 zone teams and even their guards box me out. I don't feel bad for giving up 20 boards a game.

7:52 Not a myth. Holding Y/triangle gives you bigger jumps but you take a second to get up off the ground. Tapping Y/triangle gives you instant jumps but don’t maximize your vertical. It’s a difference that you can test and replicate. I remember the difference was described in 2kU one year but I don’t remember which.

P.S. the same principle applies to blocks as well. Which is why chase downs are better when you hold Y/triangle

bread and butter. rebounding has never been more crucial with everyone shooting 40%

There’s so many people that I play with that I need to show this video too. Thank you for simplifying the fundamentals because I genuinely believe a lot of people should practice this regularly

I’ve been snagging boards on every big I made since 2k16, I could never neglect a good defensive rebound attribute on any build I make. I just love grabbing boards, it’s the job I like doing to help my teammates out

Most helpful vid I've seen to date! As someone who plays exclusively as a big, the these types of vids are a godsend and a must for ANYONE trying to run REC/ProAm.

Averaging almost 30 boards a game in random rec, but cant get a standing dunk animation to save my life! I have 90 standing dunk with silver rise up currently, do you happen to have any standing dunk tips this year? Your standing meter dunk video helped a ton last year!

Crazy defense bigs have their own playstyle, slashers have theirs, 3 point hunters have theirs, but they nerfed posthooks out the game we can't have ours
