MASSIVE 6 HR THUNDERSTORM GIVES US RAIN

A large and long line of thunderstorms were near us around 6 pm yesterday the 28th of July and when we went to bed after 1 am it was still raining with lighting and thunder. Horrific lightning and long rumbling thunder for many hours. At least we finally got some rain that we badly needed.

We need more rain, too. Going down one hwy here, on one side are brown, all-dried up corn stalk. Other side of the hwy where they have one of those huge farm irrigation on wheels, the corn is lovely and green. Storms are scary and all the flooding we had in SC last year... still we need rain in its due season.

That was a lot of lightening but you at least got some good rain out of it. Same here been dry all summer. I planted out some hollyhocks, that I grew from seed, yesterday and the ground was as dry as dust. They will need to be watered daily until they get established.

Down here in Va Beach, VA we got that storm that you got. It was a good one. Much needed rain.

I got that one too Bernard, and boy was that lightening outrageous! The thunder made me jump it was so loud, and that is a first for me. I actually like storms, but not the lightening. I won't go near any metal when a storm hits. I am so happy you finally got the rain you needed. It's been so hot here, I'm wondering if we are going to have any corn too, haven't been out in a while so I have no idea. Will hit the local market tomorrow and I guess I will find out how the farms are around here tomorrow. I have to admit I have not seen constant lightening like that ever! Glad you guys are safe, and that anything that is greens will grow again! Bless, Sheila

I'm sad we did not get any rain in Northeast NC. It got dark but nothing. Glad you got it. 60 percent chance tomorrow, my plants really need it.
