I had the G7x and sold it in favor of the G5x. Although they use the same sensor and lens, the G5x has a great viewfinder and the grip is substantially better. And contrary to popular belief, the G5x CAN fit into some jeans pockets, as long as they're relaxed enough. Also very convenient control wheel when in manual mode.

A bit of hype here, but having purchased it a month or so ago to replace my G11 that died, I have to agree, this is my 'with me always' camera. Fabulous, a little DSLR in the pocket.

In the "style" department I guess is a step in the right direction, BUT I dont understand why, given the enormous interest in the classic elegant look of cameras from yesteryear (like Leica), Canon insists in the "modern" look. If anything is to be learned from what Fuji did with the X100 models is that the interest is latent and hungry for elegant styled cameras. Why Canon, given the fact that OWNS so many beautiful designed cameras like the Canonet models or the Canon P, doesnt make a DIGITAL CANONET. Something with all the tech specs of this G5X (including the EVF, and maybe the APS-C sensor of the EOS M or SL1) but in a beautifully designed package like their own old Canonets.
