Government will take control of Scunthorpe steel plant

The Government will "pass emergency legislation in one day" to protect the British Steel plant in Scunthorpe, Sir Keir Starmer said.

He was speaking after announcing that the Commons was being recalled for an emergency debate on Saturday.

The prime minister said the future of British Steel "hangs in the balance" and the UK's economic and national security are "all on the line".

What a Croc and falsehood. British Steel !!! Wow ! Sounds so patriotic. But it was sold to a Chinese company, Jingye, in 2019 at great cost to the tax payer and then it tried to ship Chinese Steel into the USA through Britain and the Yanks were onto them and blocked the imports. Struggling ever since we will now see more of our money used to prop it up and handed back to Jingye in the near future. The sheer audacity of Labour slapping this out as a strong move is standard of todays British politics. The is about a 2% chance of this post not being removed.
