Finally someone makes a video that’s not a jack ass I actually just took in a 14 foot albino green female that is showing signs of an early respiratory I run a humidifier but I don’t let the room get above 60% and I upped her temperatures to try to dry her out I scheduled a vet appointment before I even took her home calling tomorrow to schedule appointment sooner and honestly the second event even mentions Baytril to me that’s the last time I visit that that veterinarian I actually recently found one and the first thing she said to me when I brought another snake there baytril is a thing of the past she actually mentioned every drug you mentioned and that is why I continue to pay her she doesn’t try to take my money and take the easiest route she actually knows what she’s talking about I’ve noticed a lot of exotic vets that treat birds and reptiles like she does tend to be a lot more knowledgeable I swear I think a lot of these vets slap exotic care under the résumé and just don’t have a damn clue

Omg I swear people act like they know everything but having a know it all attitude doesn’t help our animals if we really don’t know what we’re doing thank you for putting this knowledge out there 🥰

Finally. Thank you! I hope it's not to late for my baby. She's very sick. Had no sx other than loss of energy & appetite for 2 months. Vet NEVER said anything about how I was housing her! I gave great detail. Then during the 2nd vet visit, I mentioned how I noticed her puffing up more & gaping when it wasn't even that hot. Again, no answer. She said, her lungs & nose are clear. No eggs seen on X-ray. No parasites & no MBD. "May be adenovirus but will need to do bloodwork to know for sure." I've always read that only a biopsy could tell you that. So she sends us home with Insectivore & Herbivore the first visit. Adds a calcium vitamin d liquid on the second visit. 5 days later, today, she's got phlegm in her mouth & using her accessory muscles to breath. Keeping her well hydrated and bathing her 2 x day PER DR ORDERS but isn't that just adding more humidity! I live in Houston.

My five year old female bearded dragon is sick. She has lost weight, won’t eat, black beard and gasping for air. Her bloodwork came back with high blood sugar and the vet gave me a bag of food to syringe feed her. No answers to what it is and she seems so frail. All her fat stores are gone. I’m so lost in what to do. I live in Florida and no reputable reptile vet. The one I’m working with is trying though she admits not being trained on reptiles but knows a lot about them. I’m not taking her to put her to sleep without concrete proof it’s something that’s not curable. She mentioned it’s a new thing high blood sugar in bearded dragons but it’s not associated with diabetes well what then. If you have any insight please

Hey man great video. I have an Ackie that has a slight case of RI 😬 I bumped up temps and removed some of the hvac tape on her lid to boost air flow. Any other tips you could give me? A vet can’t see her till Tuesday so hoping to nip it now 🙏

I am almost certain my lizard has RI? I only had him for a week. He was eating a lot and 1 night the temps dropped down to low 70s or high 60s. It seems since then he started eating less and becoming lethargic. Im sure that is not the issue though, l am almost positive it is due to RI. What are the early signs of RI? I notice when he breathes sometimes his throat will move along with his side rib cages. I am cutting humidity and trying to up the temps. What else can l do to try and dry out his lungs? I want to say his RI is not that extreme yet. Maybe just the early stage of RI. He isnt closing his eyes, he isnt holding his head up or foaming/bubbling at his mouth yet. Can l take him outside where it is dryer and leave him out there for a few hours to help dry out his lungs? I also have a fan inside the enclosure to try and increase airflow, the enclosure isnt completely enclosed. It has vents that l leave open on the bottom. I hope l can help him before it's too late and l have to take him to the vets for antibiotics. Thanks in advance.

I got a Halmahera BTS and I'm struggling with that. I finally bought better equipment because I wasn't getting the right temperature for them and also the humidity was too low (especially because they need from 80-100%). The thing is that it's sneezing, but doesn't have any other symptom (even though he was sneezing while on paper towel so I know it's not from dust). No bubbles or hard breath or open mouth, etc. That's why I didn't freak out yet. Also, it's eating every day, pooping, etc. Tomorrow I'll raise the temperature to the proper level. Is it ok then to keep the humidity lower for a couple of days (even for this species that need 80-100% humidity)? Or could that low humidity be one of the causes of its sneezing?

So are you saying that you shouldn't keep the cage at the Humidity recommended by online care sheets If you have a low air flow cage?

I'm very pleased I found your video my bearded dragon has a respiratory infection the vets in my area don't really know much about treating reptiles but she is on a course of antibiotics the antibiotic she is on is ceftazidine. The issue that I'm struggling with is that the vet wants to give her this injection in the large part of her upper tail and I have done much research and research is saying never give a reptile and injection in the back part of the body because where their kidneys are effects the drug. The kidneys take the antibiotic before it has a chance to circulate the body and do it's job or videos and research that I have seen give bearded dragons there antibiotics either in one of the front legs in the fat muscle or under the skin on the back. I took my research to the vet since doing that a different vet has given her two more shots on the back under the skin the vet that originally gave her the first shot which one in the tail ring me and said you can so give bearded dragons injections in their tail I'm starting to get annoyed at this vet. Apparently antibiotics are more effective if injected into the muscle but they are able to be injected Under the Skin it just releases more slowly fortunately these injections have not caused the blistering type bubbles as you have described I am beginning to get extremely frustrated with the veterinary that I am seeing because of their experience and then trying to tell me that they know everything.
