Was accepted to GT as an out of state student for aerospace engineering. I’ve heard how hard it was to get in there and I was not thinking I’d get in. My SAT score followed what the guy said in the video. Heavy math (790) and average reading (650). The thing I can say the most is that touring, demonstrated interest, and taking the hardest classes known to man is important. I didn’t have much stem related ECs. I focused on what felt right to me and lead teen mental health groups that presented to school districts around my state (Massachusetts). Right now I’m currently torn between GT and the university of notre dame. good luck to any high schoolers looking to apply!

Just wanted to thank you. I watched your video a few months ago, and I got into GT for class of 27 as an OOS, white male.

Hi! Just wanted to remind upcoming seniors that colleges, including gatech, review applications HOLISTICALLY. See, i got accepted with a relatively low SAT (very low when compared to the average). 1200! 😢 But i took the IBDP and had plenty few leadership positions, a major-related internship, and volunteer experiences. Dont think that a single bad aspect would ruin your whole application!

Really good stuff. I am applying EA1 this year and will select travel abroad, summer first term, and I will try an extra curricular resume to be more descriptive. I will update results in a couple months!

Also being in-state isn’t going to help if one attends a feeder school of which there are plenty across the state.

Im starting two years at CC, then looking to transfer, Ill apply here. However 20 years ago I had left CC with a 2.7 GPA in accounting. Will this disqualify me? I have been self studying math and CS for 2 years already so am aiming for a high GPA, my test SATs are 1500's (which Ill take this year), and I have research programs lined up as well as a potential advisor already for an undergrad thesis in CS.
No issues going to state school, but any chances of GA Tech with a bad past if I can do great with my new start?
Thank you

Hi! What are my chances as a student that moved to the U.S. during sophomore year and I didnt do much during that year, yet in my junior year I got into the Ib program, have a leadership position at two clubs and Im a member of honor and hispanic honor society, I also want to try out for the tennis team and I have been part of an organization for one year and Im also part of the red cross. Im scared because I didnt have as much time as others who have been always living here. If I get good ACT/SAT scores would my chances increase? Please be honest

I will take 10 ap classes, and 4 dual credits by the end of my highschool career, 33 on act, 4.556 weighted GPA, and i would be a legacy, I am also out of state, will it be likely for me to get in? My writing skills are relatively strong, however I struggle with grammar/punctuation.

So do colleges (like gt) also review your resume in regards to opportunities granted to you in high school? Like my school doesn’t offer as many APs compared to other schools. Would they recognize and take that into account?

Hi,
I'm a junior right now and throughout high school, I've always taken the most challenging classes I can take. I had a 3.7 GPA freshman year, but I slumped in my sophomore year getting a 3.4 GPA. But now, in junior year I'm in all AP's and am getting all A-'s/As.
Additionally, I have solid extracurriculars and expect 2-3 board positions in my senior year. I also got a1520 on the SAT.
What do you think my chances are?

Curious on if I have a chance of getting into gatech? I’m a junior currently, an in-state white female with 3.7 uw and 4.0 w gpa and 5 aps so far (planning on taking 4-5 more my senior year) and 10 honors classes. i think i have decent extracurriculars (xc two years, track one year, tech student association two years (held leadership position for one) and planning on doing it my senior year, nominated for ghp by my cs teacher, and 100+ volunteer hours at my church plus nhs) i’m also aiming for a 1400+ on my sat and planning on getting a few recommendation letters from my cs and engineering teachers. also did band freshman year, not really relevant tho

I'm a senior I got a 3.84 weighted and a 3.7 unweighted gpa, my SAT is a 1600, I went to boys state (selective summer camp where only 2 people get selected from a school, however I got lucky this year due to covid funds and everyone got selected) where I got elected as an attorney, participated in science Olympiad for 2 years (I did trajectory and dynamic planetary), I am doing a research passion project on the anatomy of the eye where I will then make a podcast about it, I wrestled for all 4 of my years and I was also the PT team captain for the JROTC athletic team. I want to study aerospace engineering at this school what do you think my chances are?

Does EA vs RD make a difference in admission rates? I am OOS and have a great SAT and a near perfect GPA for both 9th and 11th grade but had a mediocre 10th grade GPA due to some extraneous circumstances. I think I can get an awesome GPA for the fall semester and hence I think I can put forth a stronger application for the RD deadline as I can include one more semester of great grades farther removed from the mediocre 10th grade. But if applying RD vs EA will hurt my chances to get into competitive engineering majors, I will likely apply EA.
