[Unity] 2.5D Sprite Rotation Test

Started yet another project!

I'm trying to make an action RPG similar to the Secret of Mana games, but this time with all my own assets. I'm also testing out the Ragnarok Online 2.5D style, with 2D sprites for all the characters and enemies, and 3D models for the environments. I'm liking it so far!

For anyone interested, below is a Unity Package with some example scripts showing how I achieved this. The camera rotation and sprite swapping is not how I'm doing it in my project because I'm using 3rd party packages that I can't include, but it's generally the same idea. I don't recommend doing it like that in a real project however.

Working on this very thing soon, will show you some progress. I'm going to have it where my program cuts up sprite sheet automatically. Thanks for sharing the package! This will help out a lot. : )

I was wondering if characters style like this is more efficient in term of performance compare to 3d models. Plus 2d characters can have a fluid animation.

Can you also upload the script you use for the character movement? When I rotate it, it's sprite doesn't change and I'm not sure how to solve this. Thanks in advance.

How complicated would you say it would be to add walking animations to this or them having damage animations? I'm messing around with this method your using but I'm kind of stuck when it comes to the adding walk cycles to each view and other animations which impacts as well.
