My Spanish teacher told us a story about her one time. She was with some of her friends, whose first language was Spanish. She did something and was embarrassed, and wanted to tell her friends that in Spanish, so she said, "Estoy embarazada". Her friend joked around and asked "oh, how far along are you?" Of course, he knew what she meant, and explained it to her. She now calls false cognates "pregnant words"

Tired and married are a little too close sounding in Spanish, also rice in Spanish backwards is fox in Spanish. (specifically a girl fox) Languages are so fun to learn, the little details that drive some people mad are what make it interesting for me and this channel is a perfect example of this enjoyment I feel, with that hint of confusion as you learn. I’m sad it took me so long to find this channel.
