$3 Secret Drawer Lock

This secret magnet drawer lock is cheap and simple to add to any existing drawer. The cost for parts is only about $3 per lock.

Had another idea and went to check YouTube and find yours. Yours is much more sophisticated then my idea. I thought you had the same idea when you opened up the bottom draw. Then I would put a latch screwed to the bottom of the top draw to stop stop draw from opening.

Simple and usefull! It give me an idea, to make pins system  with wheels and differents powerfull magnet on it + one hidden pin spot like yours!

Great job! Thanks for the good info. I'm working on a similar project, only difference is that I am trying to load the drawer rails with springs so that it "pops" open. Have you tried anything like that?

My only concern is the amount of play the drawer has when locked. Anyone looking might notice that and realize there is something hidden behind the face.

you should put the magnet into the bottom of a sign or something like that so u can just move the sign to the correct place without fishing for the magnet

What happens if you move the magnet while the drawer is open? Would the pin fall down into the bottom drawer?
