I was mostly in agreement with you right up until you said to follow your heart. Oof.

Your 'heart'--the emotions, drives, etc. coming out of your hindbrain--has no reasoning facilities. That is the job of your 'head'--the center of cognition located in the forebrain.

It *_is_* a war in that the hindbrain is constantly trying to force the forebrain to do what it wants, but such tyranny *MUST* be resisted, *NOT* encouraged. The hindbrain has *NO* insight, *NO* foresight, *NO* hindsight, and so must *NEVER* be blindly obeyed. Emotions like fear, anger, etc. are important to our survival, but should never be allowed to dictate our actions.

How many times has Hollywood hammered home the destructive narrative that, if you have 'fallen in love' with someone, you are a fool if you don't 'follow your heart' and marry them? ...even if your 'head' says that that would be a disaster. ...even if you and/or they are already married to someone you/they have 'fallen out of love' with? (Yes, many of us know someone who has beaten the odds--and that is something to celebrate--but we mustn't allow those exceptions to muddy the waters with survivorship bias.)

*_PLEASE_* think much more deeply and carefully about what you are saying and teaching. When your speech doesn't match how things actually are, those who listen to you and apply what they've heard will almost certainly come to a hard place and be dashed on the rocks of reality. Please do better.
