Phonological awareness refers to the awareness of sounds in words - no letters involved, just words! It’s a building block for phonics instruction, and it’s important to include!

A lot of phonological awareness activities are teacher-led, but I think it’s also crucial for students to have practice where they are leading the charge and working independently! In this video, I’ll go through a few resources that students can do on an individual basis to strengthen their phonological awareness skills.

one and a half semesters in ellemetnary education credential program and listening to your intro/ watching it.... It finally clicked the general difference of phonemic and phonological awareness! :O They are both umbrella terms... the Phonemic are anything like in text or written out.. and the phonological is anything audio or visual YES!
