Well you worked out the mike issues for the Galactic Five, sounds much better now. Still prefer your DSL1CR. Lucky you have such a great place for using amps without pitchforks and stake burnings. After many months of mulling over a ton of options I finally pulled the trigger on a Quilter Superblock UK (analog pedal amp), it's about as close to tube amp tones as I'll be getting where I'm living now.

Excellent amp for home use without the neighbours banging on the wall.
I only play clean so any overdrive is of no interest, the only amp that i have
found that gives me a pure warm clean tone is the Roland Jazz Chorus.
I could detect a slight edge to the clean tones from this Fazley.

Sounds good. The bugera v5 infinium is worth a go. It's superb only my opinion. Keep up the excellent reviews 👍👍👍

Mr Robson with headphones on. No matter what, we still love you. Sounds great mate. Not sure if it is you playing or the equipment.

Yeah it does a particular farty flubby old 1950's Fender tweed cranked open thing for sure. The gain channel actually sounded a little like a hotrodded JCM800. If not for the ridiculous op amp noise level that would be a nice sound. They're obviously using extremely cheap and poorly filtered op amps in there which are causing the noise. Likely an extremely poorly made output transformer and power transformer as well. I would guess it's a barely meets spec power supply with nothing in the way of proper filtering for an audio application. Too bad as I think it is a decent sounding little amp for not a bad price. Well, not a bad price if it didn't make all that non-musical noise. Will you be trying out the 10 watt version to see if it's any better? BTW bax website is awful! No description or info on the amp at all. Very much "buy all these other things! we have so much stock! but we're not really going to tell you about this amp so you can know what you are buying" lol I would like to know who makes the Fazley gear as well since it seems to be some kind of house brand.

Does it have an external speaker out? These smaller amps seem to miss the mark for me if they don’t have that feature.

I bought a Fender Champ 40 recently. Only £175 and excellent. Perhaps you could get hold of one of these to demo. Blimey! It's gone up in price already!

My property is detached and I can be as loud as I am comfortable with. My Katana 100 is too loud at 10 in 0.5W mode. How does volume level relate to wattage as 5W if I had it as an option would be ear damaging?

I think I'd use it with a reverb pedal, and a boost or overdrive pedal. I don't like the overdrive channel so much.
