It's bittersweet.
Thank you Stuart Stevens for writing the book. I know exactly how you feel.
I'm 58 years old I came out of the closet when I was 17 and had no clue what to expect but anyway the history has been written..most of my family's dead now and most of them rejected me.
They were all in the moral majority Reagan era. you're right on though with your book it has to be told and I'm not a good writer. I'm a poet of some sort.
I wrote a poem in the midst of the storm in 2001 I just want to tell you one part of it and I believe this was what God spoke to me.
In the midst of the storm is where a man is truly made, where souls are being perfected restored and saved
I Will Wait on you o Lord and no that you are near
I won't trust in what I see ahead
but only what I hear and
I hear you're still Small voice
telling me to be calm
to rest assured in your peace and be still.
I hope this helps it helped me.
If there is a God creator Jesus I think he would use all these things that were going through now to teach us a better way to love and as the church has always gotten things wrong that should teach us humility always and so there's different kinds of pride in the world.
I'm so thankful you wrote this book because I waited some 40 years before a word of affirming gay stuff was ever introduced and it almost literally killed me
words matter and thank you for for the right words that I needed at the time. Amen
