Are These Kitchen Gadgets Genius or Junk?

I unbox and test kitchen gadgets, to review and see if they're any good. Is this tomato and grape slicer good? Does the potato ricer work with carrot and beetroot? Does this Crimpit flats toatie maker work? And how about the adjustable strainer?

Potato ricer is super common here in Sweden, I've had at least one in my house since I was a kid. But we usually don't use the "rice" as is, we used it to make mashed potatoes and to prepare potaoes (and other root vegetables) for other dishes such as Kroppkakor or rotmos. And you don't need to peel the potatoes before using it, the peel stays behind.

The beetroot being squeezed in the potato ricer looks like something out of a horror movie lol. Was happy to see a new video, though!

The "Kartoffelstampfer / Kartoffelpresse" (potato ricer) is a very common tool in Germany. Based on its name it is only thought to be used with potatoes, so sadly it won't work with your beetroots or carrots.

Those "potato ricer" things arenused in my country usually for potatoes and cottage cheese, while making stuffing for dumplings (e.g. pierogi ruskie, with cheese, potato and some other things).
My mum have had this thing when I was a kid

I had that potato ricer for years in my family home, "squeezed" potatoes are commonly used in Polish recipes, for example when you are making Silesian noodles (they are round and made with finely mashed potatoes and potato flour, cooked in salty water just like pasta) I love your videos, I watched you when I was a kid and it's so nice to come back once in a while❤️

I have that same model of potato ricer that belonged to my grandmother. It’s meant to rice boiled potatoes to make lump-free mashed potatoes. I use it all the time. BTW, the pin can be removed to break it down into two pieces to make cleaning easier.

As a non-cooker chef, I see these gadgets as a win and a lose, idk why but ehh, it is what it is

Most of the gadgets looked useful. But I agree that the banana slicer was probably more work that a knife. I even just use a spoon when I'm adding banana slices to my cereal bowl.

#2 potato ricer is for mashed potatoes, puree and JUICE (as it says on the box). So from carrots, apples and other fruits/vegetables it is supposed just to squeeze juice and not to make puree.
