MindCuber Rubik's Cube Solver Troubleshooting Tips

The MindCuber, by David Gilday. This solve took 2 minutes and 51 seconds.

Tips:
-Make sure that you use good batteries, this helps with scanning and rotating the faces
-Make sure that the platform is properly aligned before starting
-Make sure that all parts of the arm are in the correct positions
-Lubricate your cube if it gets stuck frequently

Mine keeps having a Scan Error. I've tried adjusting the position of the color sensor, calibrating it, etc. Nothing seems to work. What's really frustrating is that I built another design of cube solver and that one properly detected the colors and found a solution, but the design didn't manipulate the cube as well and it kept falling off the platform. This design manipulates the cube nicely, but doesn't recognize the colors.
