Hello ladies and gents and welcome to the review of the new German Battleship of Tier VIII Brandenburg.
A reworked Tirpitz proving that Wargambling will be able to keep reworking the same ship over and over into different ships with big price tag.

What you need to know about the ship is:
1) Primary armament has reduced range to 18.6
considering you can go vs ships of Tier X this is bad forcing you into closer range engagements
2) Secondary's have range of 11.3 km
3) Torpedoes have range of 6km however if you do not use the proper upgrades you can have them easily destroyed!!
4) lack of Hydro acoustic and therefore being easily torpedoed by long range spray and pray of torpedoes

Overall the price tag is way too much and honestly if the ship would have better detection the price would make a lot more sence!

It will be up to you to make the right choice if you will acquire the ship currently participating in the brawls eliminates at least certain issues ;D

With respect...further study of this ship will reveal how to play her. Brandenburg shares the same gun system as the Oden...AND the Agir. No one seems to pick that up.
Her guns are small caliber and since the guns are the same as Agir which is a supercruiser keep that in mind also Agir and Alaska which are cruisers have more HP. The Brandenburg has a smaller turning radius than the Alaska. Her guns system, that is found on the Agir are cruiser killers...so why would you with the same gun attack other BBs at the start?
I see that in the next to last slot you put in DC2...I would put steering mod 1 there instead...the reason you will be playing her like a Heavy/Super cruiser...using islands as armor and concealment fading in and out.

Playstyle...the throttle is your best friend...watch the minimap intently to see where the players go...identify who can return fire on you if you attack conserving your lower HP till the end at mele time. Leave the flanks to the smaller boats and stay within the A to C cap boundaries. With good speed and the turning mod helps you angle return shots quickly. The guns without greasing the gears are fast and can acquire targets one from the next very quickly to the point opponents are helpless when they are in range and know they are about to get hurt badly.

I fight her like my Alaska and get BETTER numbers...in my short time in the Brandenburg playing cruiser rules I average over 100k damage...average. Reliable fire inside 14k at BS targets.
Again cruisers are your food. The lack of hydro reminds you that this boat is classified as a BB but at the start playing midrange your teammates will provide you with the intel you need to stay on top of things. I use a secondary build but again the guns at a reasonable distance will perform...attack full health BBs at the start unless they are showing BS is a waste of time...again cruisers are the target of choice and you will rack up the damage!

In closing to anyone who sees this comment to play her like the ultimate Super/Heavy cruiser...don't play her like a BB at all...and watch her shine.

What a condescending disparagement from someone who only think of this thing as another typical German brawler.
Brandenburg is probably the best heavy cruiser there alongside the German Battlecrusier line.

Not even kidding, one of the few ships whose able to be a danger at medium distances and if the situation required and there's an opportunistic opening, dive in and wreck havoc. If you use her as a heavy cruiser you'd not regret it than if you only think of her as another Bismarck with much smaller HP pool.

If you get the aiming mod for her guns her alphas a decent enough to do land a respectable amount of hits and pen even from distances of 13km + 12 guns means enough of them will hit their targets and since you have a relatively fast reload you will have a quite a lot of salvos at a distance of 10 km+ while sailing at 34 knots with speed flags. In short? A German BB that could actually hit far and relatively accurately. And despite Sharnhorst's gun's reputation I had no problem citadelling both Bismarcks and Vladivostocks in range then finish both off with 2ndaries and torpedos. If you also install the rudder shift mod and invest in her speed with speed flags and brisk she practically sails as fast as some of the best cruisers.

Key word for Brandenburg is opportunist. If you play her as a heavy crusier she has respectable mid range, deadly close range, superior speed, and because of her Bismarck like armor configuration she can't be easily deleted from afar (like the current glass cannon German Battlecrusier line.) quite a versatile ship.
