I never get why foreigners ( not only Americans) always go on about how we like to queue, it’s not that we like it it is because it is good manners. If someone has been queuing for a while why is it right for someone else to just walk up & go in front that is so wrong.

It is a strong sense of fairness, not a love of queuing.

I DO NOT LIKE TO QUEUE . But we do it because it’s a polite thing to do.

The dripping water thing is not how most Brits would react

Asking the neighbour about parking could start a feud that could last for years.

I'm British (NI), we're polite, we queue up, we also moan about stuff, but we also take no crap 😉

X is for an acquaintance.
XX is romantic
XXX is for close family.
More than that would be the sign of an unhinged stalker.

Brits don't use O. We are not huggers.

What we love about the queue is not the act of queueing, but that there is a queue, which informs us of who is also waiting & ahead of us, as well as instructing us on how to wait for the service. In the absence of a queue, British people will awkwardly spend time asking everyone else in the vicinity who was there before them if they've been served already before allowing themselves to be served - queues save us having to interact with these strangers.

going to a restaurant is less about eating and more about being social, doesn't matter how many you go to eat with. If it was only about eating we'd do it at home.

Her husband knows that knocking on the neighbour's door to tell them not to park that way would be seen as confrontational, however phrased - a great way to end up with NEIGHBOURS FROM HELL. In British culture, you're meant to know to be considerate of others, without being told - but if someone tells you, then it's war!

The husband complaining. That wasnt a refusal to solve the problem, that was him seeing her naivety at thinking that would solve the problem.

I don't know why people on Youtube keep saying the British love queuing. We don't, we hate it as much as everyone else but the difference is we're just good at it. People that don't respect the queue will be punished. The punishment usually involves everyone else standing there in silence hoping that somebody will speak-out first. A terrible fate.

I would take some of her comments with a large pinch of salt

A restaurant is meant to be a social occasion and not a get the food eaten and go.Most Europeans walk for pleasure and that is probably why we are thinner than USA

Walking is very normal here and I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't enjoy it. Studies have shown that it's useful for creative thinking. I have woods and beaches nearby and I walk regularly, I find that it's great for removing those persistent uncomfortable thoughts and clearing the mind. Got a problem and you don't know how to solve it, go for a walk with a friend, between you, you'll probably come up with something you would never have thought of sitting alone at home. And if not, at least feel unburdened.

Agree - Brits like it to be FAIR, not 'dog eat dog' and it's about decency which we need on a small and crowded island. We don't LOVE it, it's just quicker and fairer for all than the alternative.

Of course her husband will not confront the neighbour.. he is British! He just needs to vent. Make him a cup of tea 😅

Double cream, whipped cream, clotted cream, squirty cream, ice cream, Most desserts should be served with at least one of them and each have their own moistner heirarchy

Sending an X or more, is just a polite way of being friendly, nothing more. I feel like O’s for hugs is more of an American thing, not something I see so much. Love your videos! Xxx
