Leave it as is! A piece of wood that large is a true rarity and deserves to not be hidden.

Wow, what a neat lumber business! Often you hear "it's not cost effective to salvage and resell construction supplies", which sounds like a very practical argument. I love that the highlighted business is making a go at making that work! Mighty small businesses are always doing cool things.

Take pictures of it, then in the image paint that part black like you mentioned ... then occasionally look at that picture through the next days and see if that is really what you want to do.

I would leave it as is! It's a beautiful piece of wood and deserves to be seen in its natural state!
The table looks awesome! Well done!

I love this! I'd leave it all natural to let the reclaimed wood shine

Laura I've been following you for quite sometime now, and have never been disappointed in your videos. I began watching you in your shop in Germany, and loved the innovative projects. Your value system and world view aligns with mine making it enjoyable, instructive and usually humorous.
This new phase in America along with your beautiful family, is a treat which gives us a deeper look into your heart.
Don't ever change or feel the need to justify your videos.
Keep building my friend. 💗😊👍🇨🇦

Nah don't stain it. Leave as it. Looks incredible.

Laura is in her groove making furniture again!!! Love it.

Another great build, Laura. 👍
BTW I think the table just needs a nice wax finish.

I'm so jealous, that you got a wood supplier with all these old tight grained boards. And the result is amazing! 😍

Die Vorstellung, dass das Holz, aus dem die Möbel sind, eine Geschichte hat, gefällt mir sehr gut.
Der Tisch ist toll! Ich liebe das natürliche Aussehen von Holz, ich würde es so lassen.

I love old salvage yards like that and that you're giving it another life. I say leave it unfinished and just wax it. I love the tapered edge.

I'd leave it as is, it is beautiful and sleek. Love it.

Love the jig for the taper! and i love the little raw edge left behind for a little peak at the history of the piece.

I love that coffee table. You are right, it is perfect. I can’t wait to see what else you make. Your house will be completely and truly you; so beautiful.

You never fail to amaze me. I think your coffee table is brilliant, but what impressed me the most was that you even made your own jig for the taper!!!

Oh my goodness how gorgeous! You are definitely a master craftsman at building furniture! Very impressive coffee table! Love that the wood is reclaimed and you know where it came from! Personally, I think leaving it natural would be my choice. The wood grain is so beautiful! Blessings always to you and your family! Fabulous job and video! 😊❤

That fireplace is absolutely gorgeous! I hope you never have to change anything about it ❤

I'm sure this is well known among furniture makers, but drawing the ellipse like that blew my mind.

This table is child proof! No sharp edges and really heavy! Also, a cool design and has a good story behind it!

oil/wax (type of your choice) seems easy and most natural for showing the natural beauty of the wood
