"Stop polluting our land and waterways and make Glencore pay for closure and clean up at the McArthur River Mine" - that's the message from Traditional Owners from the Borroloola Indigenous clan groups in the Northern Territory who have traveled to Glencore in Sydney this morning.
The peaceful action coincides with the company's AGM in Switzerland and an international day of action where local communities impacted by Glencore’s mines will highlight the impacts on the essentials of life and community.
The Borroloola clan has been impacted by significant environmental problems caused by Glencore's reckless mining at McArthur River lead and zinc mine. The action was hosted by Action Aid, Mineral Policy Institute and the Borroloola clan groups of which a delegation of eight Elders and young people attended the action in Sydney.

Our leaders are only concerned about investment and growth of that investment.Like mining companies they live for the moment and don't clean up their mess. What is happening to the environment cannot be undone. All humans need food water and clean air, soil. The rest is superfluous.
