Hi everyone :) 8th September or known as Victory Day commerates the days when the Maltese won many wars to defend Malta : The end of the Great Siege of 1565 against the Ottomans won with the Knights of St John, the victory of the Maltese against the French and the victory over the Nazi and Fascist Mussolini won with the British in WW2 .During this day there are also four Religious festa parties around Malta dedicated to the Nativity of Our Lady ( Our Lady of Victories ) in Mellieha, Senglea, Naxxar in Malta and Xaghra in the nearby island Gozo. In the Grand Harbour there is the Regatta boat race to commemorate the victory. In this race, the clubs participationg have to cross the harbour on traditional Maltese boats. The clubs participating are Senglea, Birgu, Bormla, Marsa, Birzebbuga and Valletta. Enjoy :)
