Shapiro is an absolute no go for me. Anyone who thinks it appropriate to pass laws in this land that would punish students and others for not supporting Israel or for standing up for an oppressed Palestinian people are not people I would ever support let alone vote for.

Ugh. Saagar is so stuck in 2012. Young voters DO matter and they DO vote which is why they had to so flagrantly rig the primaries against Bernie TWICE. We aren’t guaranteed voters that’s true - but our support makes the difference and puts any candidate over the edge.

Walz is by far the best nominee for me. I think it's hilarious that the only strike against him (that I've seen multiple times in comment sections) is that his hair is white/balding.

I would take Beshear as second choice.

I also think it's a mistake to view V.P. in the terms that most analysis videos take: "The guy is from this state, so he'll definitely give us the state he's from."

I think it matters most what would help Kamala Harris in terms of the general public favorability and who would draw in the most demographics. Due to his unfortunate comments, Shapiro has the chance to alienate MILLIONS of potential voters - yes, the same ones that are currently making Kamala go viral with Tiktok videos. If she picks Shapiro, all that organic grassroots support on social media (worth millions) dries up immediately.

Edit: Saagar's point at 11:30 about how these are extraordinary circumstances, and how Kamala's V.P. pick might matter more than it would in any other context... I think that's actually an argument for NOT going with Shapiro. She is currently trailing Trump slightly nationally. She NEEDS people to come out and vote who might normally not. That means the youth vote. So to just dismiss an entire generation of potential voters because they "don't vote anyway" is basically conceding the election.
