This is exactly how I felt when my best friend told me she’s dating a guy in his 40’s… she’s 21. Who was also her ex. And also dated her other best friend.
And she told me he wasn’t taking advantage of her because she “knows what it’s like to be taken advantage of” because she dated a guy who was in his mid 50’s when she was 17.
I’m just hoping I can be a good influence on her and help her break all the toxic connections she has and boost her self-esteem. She’s such a nice person, and a joy to be around, and it makes me sad she doesn’t see even a fraction of what everybody else sees in her.
