Chopin: Ballade No. 3 in A-Flat Major

One of my favorite pieces by Chopin, this ballade encapsulates all I love about his compositional style. There are different contrasting sections, and each one tells a unique story.
As for difficulty, this ballade has one of the most musically challenging openings of any Chopin piece. It is filled with awkward legatos, and phrasing and connecting passages are extremely difficult. Technically speaking, it poses some challenges as well, which peaks at the Coda.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Difficulty: 7.7/10

I remember the good old days where I thought that La Campanella was the hardest piece. Don't you remember those days?

Hello, I have been watching your videos for quite some time. Could you make a list of the hardest Mereaux pieces? He made a few pieces that, in my opinion, are some of the most difficult piano compositions, not including the slam on the keys polychords of Sorabji or Finnissy. Those, in my opinion, just encompass slamming on the keys and writing it down. Mereaux actually is comparable to Alkan, and in many aspects is harder. Would love to see you do a list of the hardest of him. Also, I think it would be cool to do some lists from Baroque composers such as Lully, Rameau, Bach, Couperin, Daquin, Scarlatti etc. Thanks for making such good content.

Very very good interpretation, aside from audio quality issues, the only thing I think could be improved is the pedal could be held a little longer in the introduction. You cut it off a little bit too soon. Other than that this is great!
Btw until you fix the mic I recommend u just record the sound with ur phone, it works surprisingly well. I record all my videos personally with my phone at least.

Hey, do you ever consider going big with competitions or anything? Van Cliburn and the like? That's my ultimate goal and I was wondering if you have such aspirations, because I think your playing is pretty stellar :D

Hey, can I ask you a quick question. Been watching your channel for a very long time, and really enjoy ur videos. To the question, what level of piano do you believe I am at. I can play most of Pathetique 1 by Beethoven, all of Ronda Alla Turka, as well as bits and pieces of various, Liszt, Schumann, Chopin etc. thanks for letting me know, and if you can, tell me where I should go next. Btw. I cannot read sheet music or notes at a good level as I am self taught. What piece do you think I should do next as I am 14, have pretty fast hands, decent technique etc. thanks so much.
