Then we'll look at how you can make an org chart using Visio on the web, which now comes for free with all work and school accounts. You'll have a little more control compared to the smart art option.

Then we'll look at how you can make an org chart using the data visualizer, which uses both Visio and Excel.

I have been doing charts recently in MS Word and struggling with adding shapes etc. Didn’t realise there were so many options and loved the shortcut at the start of the video of simply doing a list of names with indents and then copying into Smart Art. I'm trying to access the templates in Visio on the web but there are none for org charts. When I search for organization it says there are more hits than are being shown to me, and as I click to read more it says I need a Visio subscription 2 to use org charts.

Those work fine and adjust their sizes in a smart way, are easily editable etc., but after a certain amount of members in a given org chart, they show some of the weaknesses, like how limiting their layouts are and how poor their space usage is in favour of the wow factor. I liked the fast click away when the 2/5 visio rating on the store was visible :D
