Graduation ceremonies end 2017 on a high note

The University of Cape Town's academic calendar concluded with a day of graduation ceremonies on Wednesday, 20 December 2017 in Memorial Hall.

Approximately 1 420 qualifiers – including 112 PhDs and 368 master’s candidates – received their degrees at three graduation ceremonies.

This marks the last of 2017’s three graduation seasons. In May 6 566 students, including 148 PhD candidates, were capped at 14 graduation ceremonies over six days. On 14 July 1 112 students, including 103 PhD candidates, graduated at three ceremonies.

The day was preceded by a cocktail event honouring the PhD candidates the evening before.
