Kudos for ruth dedicating the award to her recently deceased mother, a real superhero for raising eight children on her own and then lived to be 101.

Can't believe she's the first Black Woman to win 2 Oscars.

The costumes are even better than the ones from the first Black Panther. Absolutely stunning to look at!
It takes the Afro-future look from the first movie, expands it while also creating brand new costumes for the underwater tribe!

EEAAO should've won but this is a deserving win as well. Ruth crushed it with both Black Panther films.

It should have also gotten nominated for Production Design and Original Score.

With this award Ruth E. Carter became the first Black Woman in History to win 2 Oscars, this is an Important Victory But a little sour because I think this Accomplishment should have gone to Viola Davis if she had won by Ma Rainey's Black Bottoms or Lupita Nyong'o if she had nomination by Us.

While the production design was what I found most visually stunning, the costumes were a close 2nd
Still a well deserved win

Black Panther in 2018: Win the Oscar for best costumes
Black Panther 2 in 2022: Do you want me to do it again?
Honestly, the Black Panther saga is the one that wins Oscars: D, but Babylon deserved that award for me.

Even though I didn’t like this movie as much as the first one I’d say it has some pretty amazing costumes.

Congrats RUTH E. CARTER! The Academy did not gave the Best Costume Design Oscar to her just for her to make or break a record even if this was her second Oscar! She deserved it because the costumes as I saw them in the Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Black Panther Wakanda Forever documentary on Disney+ were beautifully designed, crafted, elevated, and upgraded from the first film! Even those costumes worn by the Talokan people including Namor's besides those worn by the Wakandans were so brilliantly and meticulously detailed from research trips to Africa, South America, Mexico, and Yucatan Peninsula.

Of course, there is fair criticism in my opinion: those Midnight Angel costumes worn by Okoye and Aneka were bad as it looks like straight out of a anime or a Sonic video game despite they were based on the comics but still it looks ugly as described by Okoye. 😭

*Before the ceremony it was said we miss the time when standing ovation was for special awards and also for really especial works in competition categories. It means standing ovation did NOT happen every year. In the last 25 years everybody in main categories got standing ovation every year. People sadly misunderstood it thinking it was to spread it to the other categories too.*
*R.I.P. the real meaning of standing ovation (long time ago) because everybody gets standing ovation.*
