Heat shrink tips. 1st, use the recommended size of heat shrink for the size of crimp or wire you are protecting as it is designed to shrink only so much. To do this you MUST put the heat shrink over the wire before crimping and/or soldering the wire so you dont have obstacles too large for the correct size of heat shrink to slip over. 2nd, use a heat gun, not a lighter. If you are in the field you might use a small butane torch, but keep the flame from contacting the heat shrink. Lastly, they make heat shrink crimps 😁🤫 They are the semi translucent pink, blue, and yellow connectors you more often see at auto parts stores than hardware and department chains. I use a small butane torch ( harbor freight ) . I dont get to close to the heat shrink
let the heat do the work , not the flame . Take your time . Thanks for Video .

Use a heat gun on the heat shrink, if you have to use a light use the blue part of the flame

Nicely done. You may know this already but heat shrink comes in different sizes. The tubing you used looked a "little big". Try a smaller size and try not to prolong your stay on the heating to avoid burning the heat shrink tubing. You can use a lighter like you used as well as a heat gun or propane / MAPP gas torch. Clean install. I came across a 15gpm pump which was froze up. Had to dismantle it and free it up so the impeller and passages were free and clean. Also gave it a paint job and just got a mechanical meter in. Thanks for the video, helps me to get some ideas for my install.

Go to harbor freight and buy you a $10.00 heat gun, that's what I use.

I'm buying auxiliary fuel tank for gasoline that idea is smarter than the idea I was about to do which was modify the wire to have it wired as jumper cables to clamp on 12 volt battery, which could cause a fire if gasoline was used in a auxiliary tank like that.

Nice video! Where did you get the little rubber grommet that goes inside the plastic conduit to keep water out? I just bought the full rite pump and mine did not come with the rubber grommet or the inline fuse.

Heat shrink: use a heat gun instead of a lighter. Take your time, approach slowly until you find the proper distance for your gun and tubing.
