Today I am sharing how we manage our money and how we save and spend. One question I probably get asked the most since renovating our home is how we have managed to save for such a big project. I will be going into more detail of our costing for the project, but in this video, I wanted to share how we manage our money to enable us to save the most we can each month.

Thank you to Hyperjar for sponsoring this video, I cannot recommend their app and e-money account enough. To download the app and start saving click here:

I love this, I’ve been doing something similar with my main bank and another online only bank which allows jars - but I love the fact that you can switch jars to link to card, as I have to move things between accounts. Will defo look at this, as it’s a step up to what I’m currently doing.
Also, please ignore those people moaning about ADs, I understand the need for ads, this is your job and you need to pay the bills. As long as the ads are for things that you truly use and are honest then I see no issue with it. People need to realise that YouTube ad revenue can’t be the only source of income for smaller channels and even massive channels rely on doing ADs!

So glad I saw this video. I have a hyper jar card for me & my daughter but never put anything into it as I wasn't too sure on how to use it. So excited to start using it next month now. Thank you. xx

Some great tips Kerry...my husband and I have a savings, an ATM account and our home loan. We then have a spreadsheet with all of our "secondary accounts" such as grocery, fuel, care for our dog, house expenses, medical etc. So on pay days we divide it up into these and we never buy something unless we have the funds. We save And buy it then. We are very conscious about food waste and using what we have. Because of this way of living we are due to pay off our mortgage in February and that is our only debt so we will be debt free ☺️. My husband works from home in the weekday evenings remotely and I'm able to look after us and our home and retire early so we spend our days together. It's only through hard work, saving and budgeting that we are where we are now and I couldn't be more proud

This sounds brilliant Kerry. I compartmentalise nearly all of my life so I think this will be very useful for me. Will give it a go. Thank you 💕

Hi kerry. We have been looking for something like this for our family. Now been using it for past few months and it has been such a great way to manage our money. Few hiccups but most definitely a good recommendation. 👍 thankyou 🙂

Kerry, this is fantastic. We are a family of list makers and our bank accounts are currently separated into several accounts for general, mortgage, bills, car rego, etc.
But this new system you’ve shown in today’s video is exceptionally organised, all on one screen and visually appealing. I love it.
It’s like the online version of the cash envelope system that I did when I got my first job 😂👏🏼
I’m going to save this video to watch it again - I don’t know if you said we can have it in Australia 🇦🇺 - I was making lunches at the time. 😆🤦🏻‍♀️ Trying to multitask.
Either way, this is game changing for banking and saving. A must have for Type A personalities 🤣
Thank you 🙏🏼 even if we can’t get it here yet, it won’t be long before we can, surely.

We have a few accounts too. Our everyday account, savings, holiday savings, house account where all bills for the house comes out of. I find it easier to compartmentalize where my money is going. However the holiday account is looking a bit sad over covid in NZ we cant go anywhere still. Thanks for this video.

Haha this is great! And so timely as I'm fed up with my hand written budgets and having to manually write down every time I spend from each of my budgets. I've already downloaded it and can't wait to get it up and running, it's going to save me so much time. Thanks for the video Kerry, it's much appreciated 🙂❤️. PS, it is asking me for a referral code, even though I downloaded it via your link. Do you have one? I'll wait to sign up properly until you reply 🙂

Do you and your husband both have cards? Can you both spend from all the jars?

Hi Kerry! I am the big spender in our family and I was wandering if you can put a password at every jar but if I want it to use one my husband has to approve the jar link to the card and the other way around if he wants to use one. I’m thinking this way I can be more careful with my spendings. Like I said I’m the problem not my husband 🤦🏻‍♀️
