Solving a system of linear equations can lead to infinitely many solutions, no solutions or a unique solution. We explore the conditions which lead to these outcomes as an introduction to more general methods involving matrices. This is Chapter 4 Problem 3 of the MATH1131/1141 Algebra notes.
