`William Tyrrell: Stranger Abduction or Family Homicide?

Three-year-old William Tyrrell went missing on September 12, 2014 in Kendall, New South Wales, Australia allegedly from the yard of his foster parent's home. Originally, the police were focused on a stranger abduction but in 2021 circled back to the home and are considering the foster mother a person-of-interest.

Were detectives looking the wrong direction then or are they looking in the wrong direction now?

Thanks for another great presentation Pat! You always have my full attention and interest! I am a child of the fifties and we lived in bush! I remember mom rushing us out to play with a sandwich baggie and an apple with a container of water and a “just be sure you get home before your father!” We’d spend our days exploring the bush, climbing trees, and just hiking all over! We’d go miles and miles and always find our way back home just before dad got home for dinner. I was either riding my bike or horse with never a thought of danger on my mind….danger was my dad at home! I had my kids in my thirties and was much more watchful over their activities but I was their softball coach, gymnastics driver, swimming encourager, track fan etc…but it was a different time too compared to my childhood! Thank you for your excellent lesson tonight, very interesting and thought provoking, I truly hope that William is found and could be laid to rest. That they catch whoever did this and is held responsible.

Hi Pat! Thank you for covering this case, as an Aussie William is close to my heart. Just wanted to update you. The suppression order has been lifted and we know the assault allegations. Foster mum allegedly hit Williams sister on the head with a spoon, kicked her, yelled abuse at her and put her in time out for 40 minutes. Foster dad allegedly grabbed her by the throat.Supposedly the sister was misbehaving because a new foster child was added to the family (5 years old) and she became jealous. Anyway William’s sister was taken out of their care I don’t know about the other kid though. They pleaded not guilty.

Both parents were also charged with giving misleading or false evidence to police in relation to the investigation into will’s disappearance. There’s no more info on that though. They will plead not guilty.

Hi Ms Brown I live in Australia and have followed this case closely I think the child was disposed of in nearby forest by foster mother I agree that police investigation was terrible in early days There is no chance of finding body as there have been fires in forest since Thank you for your assessment

Saying how hard it is to have a foster child ripped out of your home and going back to bad parents reminds me of little sweet Oakley Carlson. I wish she could have stayed with her foster parents forever! 😥

I got a bad, bad feel8ng when I saw the Foster parents interviewed and the woman was clutching a toy very much like Kate McCann and both children weren't being properly supervised in their given surroundings. Hasn't the Foster mother now been charged? I'm an adopted person not a happy experience for me I'm afraid. I wasn't the daughter my mother envisaged for herself and she's made it perfectly clear everyday for 44 years that I was given every opportunity and how disappointing it is I never lived upto my potential.

You were that poor deaf girl’s Mommy in her heart even being with you for just a few months. That story made me well up. You helped her at a desperate time, and she will always have that memory of when she got her Mommy, who she could actually talk to and share truly meaningful time with, whether she had gotten to stay with you or not. I am so sorry that poor girl’s life was still so unstable and complicated after being with you. But I am so happy you were there for her while the system allowed it. I can’t imagine the emotions you must have over her. So much respect and GRATITUDE to you for what you did for her and for your son! ❤️❤️❤️

I had an awful experience as a foster mom in the US too. It was so heartbreaking for my family we never tried again.

In the 000 call she said she was inside with her mum and daughter and she heard him roaring outside and then she realised she hadn’t heard him so went to check on him. Strange. I have a 3.5 year old and I wouldn’t be inside while he’s outside unsupervised.

Hi Pat!
In 1974 my 9 year old sister died from a slip and fall. She was wearing flip flops and slipped on the front steps which had a handrail at the time. When she fell she slid under the rail and fell 3 feet to the ground hitting the side of her head on the ground in the grass. Dad saw her fall as she was coming out to greet Dad in the driveway.
They took her to a doctor who checked her out and said she was fine. Not a mark on her. She died later that day from a brain bleed.
With this being said… kids fall all the time. And Spider-Man would go over the rails because he is a hero.

I think William had an accident. I am unsure why it would be covered up tho unless there was foul play or neglect. My parents did what you would have expected… got help regardless of judgement.
This is what puzzles me most.

Bill Spedding would have had no idea any Grandkids were coming to Foster Grandmother's house. Foster Parents surprised her with the visit. She didn't know they were coming. I feel heartbroken for Bill Spedding 😢😢
